WINSTED — The Winchester Police Department is seeking a suspect that robbed the Winsted Pawn Shop at 424 Main Street.
According to a press release issued by Chief William Fitzgerald, the robbery took place in the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 28.
According to Fitzgerald, the clerk at the store told the police that the suspect was wearing a mask, dressed in all black clothing and displayed a silver handgun.
The suspect demanded cash and any valuables from the clerk.
The suspect stole approximately $500 cash and $6,000 worth of jewelry before he fled on foot heading east on Main Street.
The suspect is described as male, approximately 5” 8” with a Hispanic accent, wearing all black clothing with a black backpack and in possession of a silver handgun.
