Doing good for the neighborhood in Barkhamsted

BARKHAMSTED/PRESS RELEASE —  On Tuesday, Sept. 29, the Lions Club of Barkhamsted held its first ever bingo fundraiser at the Pleasant Valley Drive-In Theater. Over 100 residents attended the event which raised funds for the organization’s Community Benefit Club. The club funds projects including Barkhamsted Elementary School graduation, Barkhamsted Little League, Lions Low Vision Center, Diabetes Camp, Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Kids with Cancer research, robotics club, hunger relief, and disaster relief.
The event was conducted by Everything Happens for a Reason fundraising with all proceeds designated for the organization.
The final amount raised will be publicly announced at the club’s next meeting on Monday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Old Riverton Inn/Royal Coachman Tavern. The meeting is open to the public and all are invited to attend. Masks must be worn and social distancing guidelines observed.
