The state has declared Winsted, along with Barkhamsted, New Hartford, and Torrington, as “red zone” towns.
According to the state’s Department of Public Health, “red zone” towns are where there are 15 or more new cases of COVID per day per 100,000 people.

In Winsted, from Nov. 8 to Nov. 21, there were 46 new cases of COVID.
In that same time period, in Torrington there were 336 new cases. In Barkhamsted, there were 12 new cases. In New Hartford, there were 35 new cases.
Total cases as of November 24:
Winsted: 141 cases, four probable cases.
Torrington: 1,146 cases, 54 probable cases.
Barkhamsted: 52 cases, three probable cases.
Colebrook: Nine cases, one probable case.
New Hartford: 94 cases, three probable cases.
Norfolk: 17 cases, one probable case.

In Connecticut, there are 109.152 cases. In Litchfield County there are 3,703 cases and 312 probable cases.

As of Nov. 25, there are 18 people hospitalized in Litchfield County with COVID symptoms.
