WINSTED — Weed treatment on Highland Lake will start on Thursday, July 22.
According to an announcement by the Highland Lake Watershed Association (HLWA), the lake will be treated with Procellacor and Tribune between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
According to an email by HLMA, the treatment was postponed to July 22 due to the failure of the company treating the lake, Solitude Lake Management of Shrewsbury, Mass. to file maps in a timely fashion.
While there are no restrictions on boating, fishing, and swimming during the time of the weed treatment, HLWA asks that residents not use lake water for drinking, cooking, or irrigation on Sunday, July 25.
HLWA also asks residents not to use lake water for livestock on Friday, July 23.
