A 16-year-old has been charged with murder in the death of Jordan Patterson, a 24-year-old man from Windsor Locks who was fatally shot in Manchester last month.
The incident happened around 4 a.m. on May 20. Manchester police responded to reports of a vehicle idling near Irving Street and Woodland Street with an unresponsive driver inside. Officers arrived and found Patterson shot in the torso and unresponsive in the driver’s seat. Despite efforts from first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
After launching an intensive investigation with help from local and federal agencies, police identified a teenage suspect and obtained an extraditable arrest warrant. The teen was located in Alabama and brought back to Connecticut to face charges.
He is now charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, carrying a dangerous weapon, and unlawful discharge of a firearm. He has been placed in Hartford Juvenile Detention and is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
Authorities are still urging anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Kaczerski at the Manchester Police Department at 860-645-5500.
